about

phoebe is an ecological illustrator, land steward, and dancer focused on creating life on earth through connection to the natural world.growing up in the foothills of the blue ridge mountains, they studied architecture at the university of virginia, falling in love with the process of meeting and supporting ecosystems through drawing and designing.they have spent the past few years stewarding land-based projects in the semi-arid pinelands of colorado, while traveling internationally in the winters. they teach classes in botanical illustration, nature journaling, and sustainable agriculture, and deeply enjoy facilitating connection with the natural world.their process of creation involves traveling to new ecosystems, and spending slow time meeting and interpreting ecological phenomena around them. they document each ecosystem through specimen samples, diagrams, and landscape sketches to create compositions that seek to embody the spirit of the place.phoebe does commission work for those interested in creating nature-inspired pieces within their eco-region. reach out if you have an idea!
